Administrative Changes

White Bear Lake Area Schools is excited to announce administrative changes that are taking place this summer and will be in effect for the start of the 2023-24 school year.

Cynthia Mueller, who began in the district in 2017 when she was named principal at Otter Lake Elementary, will serve as a full-time Principal on Special Assignment as a member of the district-wide Teaching and Learning team for the 2023-24 school year. In this role, Cynthia will provide instructional leadership through collaboration with principals and instructional coaches to support student literacy outcomes and the implementation of the district’s strategic plan. For the past two years, Cynthia has been the lead facilitator of the elementary ELA Curriculum Review process.

Current WBLAHS - North Campus principal Ang Nelson will move into the principal role at Otter Lake Elementary, where she will serve elementary students and families in the northern part of the school district. Her current WBLAHS-North Campus principal position will be filled with a one-year temporary principal position for the 2023-24 school year. When the unified high school houses all White Bear Lake Area High School students in the fall of 2024, Russell Reetz will serve as principal of the grades 9-12 building.

“I appreciate the work each of these leaders has done throughout the years and the connections they have made with our students, staff and families,” said Superintendent Wayne Kazmierczak. “I look forward to continuing to work with each of them on important district- and school-level initiatives they will pursue in their new roles during the upcoming school year.”
