Counseling

As counselors, we support our school community  through pro-active, developmentally appropriate programming in the area of social/personal, academic and college/career readiness.  Our role is to foster an inclusive, collaborative environment where all students can become successful members of society.

Many of the ways we can help students and families include:

  • Academic, social/emotional and career/college guidance
  • Crisis intervention and prevention
  • Communication and teaming with students, staff and families about student issues
  • Student placement and scheduling, including high school registration and AVID program
  • Classroom guidance curriculum and presentations
  • Coordination of student 504 plans
  • Interpretation and coordination of MCA and EXPLORE testing
  • Liaison with new and prospective families/coordinate transition to the building
  • Leadership in various building initiatives
  • Refer families to outside agencies as requested
